Arrived to see a sparkly sea with a fair bit of wind. Others had been out on bigger sails so I started rigging a 6.5. Then word came through that it was 5.5 weather at east Wittering so I rigged the 5.5. By the time I'd changed the wind was fine for the 5.5.

Very flat at first (low water) but as the wind continued and got a bit stronger it was choppier with some really sharp chop over the shallows. Lots of jumping.

Took the GPS out and logged 23.4 knots - doesn't seem a lot really. Also tried an F2 Sputnik that the Boards team were testing as part of their test of old boards. Interesting and not at all bad.

For much of the afternoon I was really overpowered but gradually got the hang of sitting on the power and coping with the involuntary jumping. Plenty of gybes but quite a few wet ones too. Waterstarting was a formality: show the sail to the wind and press the button for the top floor.

An excellent day. Loads of wind, sun and got some technique improvements sorted. Four and half stars so ... I'll give it five.
